ART EXPECTATIONS...
At the beginning of each school day, all students recite the Troy Hofer pledge. This is a promise to ourselves as well as others to be respectful, responsible, peaceful, safe AND kind. This target behavior is used throughout our school to encourage students to make good decisions throughout their daily life.
Troy Hofer Pledge...
Today is a new day. I will do my best to be respectful, responsible, peaceful, safe and kind. I came to Troy Hofer to learn. When I work with my teachers, family, and friends, I can achieve this.
Students are encouraged to follow the school rules as well as...
1. Keep your hands to yourself
2. Stay focused
3. Use low voices
4. BE KIND
To keep things consistent throughout the building and encourage positive behavior, the art room has a similar behavior management system when compared to the classroom teachers...
Paper paint splotches are located on the white board in front of the classroom. Each student starts on YELLOW. When a child displays positive behavior the child can move up on the paint scale. Each child can earn various rewards based on the color landed on at the end of the hour. If the child displays inappropriate behavior the child will move backward. If the child reaches the end of the paint scale, the child's behavior will be addressed. After each class leaves the art room, the board is cleared and every student starts a fresh day as they re-enter the classroom the following week.
